Our Story

Mitchell’s Market carries on a family food tradition that began in 1929, when E.C. Mitchell started serving the kind of good, honest food people remembered and came back for.

What began as a local family business grew into a name trusted by generations of customers, restaurants, schools, churches, and families throughout southeastern Kentucky. At the heart of that tradition is Mitchell’s Chili — a longtime local favorite known for its rich flavor and classic taste, especially on hot dogs.
